This is a patch that addresses the persistent issue where the widget does not show up for people in a multiplayer session.
I finally received some good information on the problem and I believe I have identified it. As this is an issue relevant only to multiplayer, the ONLINE version of the mod was updated. Make sure you grab that, and let me know if issues persist.... -
Hi,
So I feel like using Addons might have caused more instability than benefits, especially since I can't pump out new characters full-time. I reverted back to the old scheme, where all characters exist in one mod. The catch is that I separated the character data into a separate pak file. The LUA aspect of the mod now exists entirely to customize keybinds.
When you're downloading the new version, please remember to select either ONLINE or OFFLINE version, and also download the DATA files.
Thanks,

It has come to my attention that the online version of the mod is completely broken, and prevents joining clients from bringing up the widget, or display the custom characters. I suspect it is a packaging error on my end. I have updated the files, and verified it fixed the issue in a coop test.
Redownload the VisualOverrideMod MAIN file and let me know if it addresses your issue.... -
This will likely be the most controversial update, as it completely changes how you download, install, and use the mod. It is very important to voice your feedback to help decide on whether we should move forward with this model.
Addon System
After so much struggle with the process of mod loading, I was finally able to create a workaround to enable the use of Addons in a multiplayer session. Addons allow me to break up characters into separate packages, this creates benefits and drawbacks:
PROs
Flexibility to address issues/mistakes on a character without needing to update the entire mod
Drastically reduces mod size as characters are added (Currently 50 MB vs 600 MB)
Ability to opt-in for characters: not everyone is intere... -
Hi,
So I seem to have taken 2 steps forward, 1 step back in this update. So here is the breakdown.
This version adds some much needed customization features in the form of sliders (commonly used for body morphing, and material parameters). It also comes with an offline version, please let me know if it works as expected!
Alongside other upgrades, the main feature I was stress testing was the Addon System. Initially, Ashley was developed as an Addon, which worked beautifully well. But I later discover the Addon System doesn't interact nicely with coop play (due to order of initialization and mod loading limitations). This is sad news because the new features I added would benefit greatly from it, it would have allowed:

So now that people had a chance to test things around, it's a good time to proceed with adding some new features to the mod. Based on the comments and ideas proposed, here is what version 0.2 is looking like so far:
Ability to color cosmetics (DONE)
Addon System to allow modders to add to the list of characters (DONE, NOT FULLY TESTED)
New character release -- might as well to test the addon feature!
Ability to tweak the body appearance (i.e wetness). This was implemented, but I did not like the way it came out, so I'll be working a new customization system for the body that would:
Allow author to specify material parameters that can be customized on the body
Allow author to specify list of morph sliders

Who is the target audience of this mod?
Players who want a model replacement that does not interfere with other mods that affect armors and the character, and works independently of your gear and character creator setup in-game. More importantly, coop players who want their appearance to replicate to their peers. Although this mod was created for NSFW purposes, it doesn't need to be.
How can I get more characters into the game?
There are 2 answers to this question. The known way is what is currently there -- occasional updates on my end that add more characters to mess with. The ideal (untested) plan is to create an blueprint interface for other modders to implement, that would allow them to add to the list of characters independent of myself. The latter loo... -
